Arriving to the City of Tapachula, either by the International Airport of Tapachula or the bus terminals ADO, Cristobal Colon, AEXA, Platinum or other, leave towards the highway to the border city of Talisman, where the Border Port with the Republic of Guatemala is located, take the detour to the city of Cacahoatán (17 Km) and to the city of Unión Juárez (35 Km), where there are two dirt roads, one to the community of Cantón Chiquihuite and the other to the community of Ejido Talquian, which are the two gateways to the Tacana Volcano.
- Transportation facilities
Collective cabs can be taken from Tapachula to both Cacahoatán and Unión Juárez. From these municipal capitals, 1.5-ton or 3-ton vehicles adapted for passenger transportation can be taken to various communities in the upper part of the volcano. There are trails that take you on foot to various sites in the reserve's polygon.
- Mobility within the protected area
Walking, there is no other way and the use of mountain bikes or motorized vehicles is not allowed. The trails are marked with signs and preferably with the use of guides from the communities. You can request the support and payment of porters, horse and/or mule rental for saddles and pack mules.

Temperate to cold
Although a tropical zone due to the altitude above mean sea level (1,500 to 4,100 meters above sea level) and the vegetation present (cloud forest, pine and oak forest and mountain moor), the climate is temperate to cold with abundant rainfall in summer and cold in autumn and winter.

$60.37 MXN Entrance prices per person, per day, as collection of rights.
Senior citizens, pensioned and retired persons, disabled persons, and minors under 12 years of age will be exempt from the payment of fees, whose status will be accredited once they enter the Protected Area, if applicable, with the corresponding valid credential. A 50% discount will be applied to students and teachers with a valid credential, which must be presented upon entering the Protected Area.

Visitor regulations in the Protected Area
Those established in the Reserve's Management Program, but summarized as follows:
1. Request the necessary information about the general characteristics of the reserve from reserve personnel, local communities, and community tourism service providers.
2. Stay for the safety of the visitor and all of the natural and cultural resources of the site, only on trails and in authorized areas.
3. Respect at all times the indications of the guides and trained people in order to offer a safe and rewarding experience.
4. Take with you all the waste you generate, to deposit them in the containers intended for this purpose. Collaborate with conservation by paying your access fee to the reserve and registering your information at the visitor service modules.
5. Behave with respect for the areas you visit, as well as for other visitors with whom you share your visit.
6. When visiting the Reserve, be as quiet as possible on the trails so as not to disturb the fauna and thus you will be able to observe them.
7. It is strictly forbidden to extract any type of natural resources (plants, animals, soil, rocks, among others), any person caught doing these activities will be referred to the appropriate authorities to be punished according to the law.
