Federal Highway 200 Acapulco - Pinotepa Nacional. Go to the town of Cuajinicuilapa and turn right towards Punta Maldonado, then turn right in the town of Montecillos, towards San Nicolas and Maldonado. In the town of Maldonado after passing the health center turn left to reach the town of Tierra Colorada. In this town are the offices of the Sanctuary and approximately 3 Km away is the Tierra Colorada Sanctuary. The access to Tierra Colorada is by road with many potholes. From Tierra Colorada the access to the Sanctuary is by dirt roads.

Reglamento para el visitante en el ANP
1. No manipular, tocar, acosar, molestar o dañar a las tortugas marinas.
2. Hacer los recorridos a pie, en grupos no mayores a 10 visitantes, formando una fila compacta y a intervalos de 30 minutos entre un grupo y otro.
3. No tomar fotografías con flash en ningún momento durante el recorrido.
4. No podrán hacer uso de fuentes de iluminación durante el recorrido, a excepción del personal encargado de conducir a los visitantes, quien podrá emplear una lámpara, la cual debe estar equipada con un filtro rojo o una fuente de luz de coloración roja.
5. Los visitantes permanezcan a un mínimo de 10 m de distancia de la tortuga, hasta que ésta inicie el desove.
6. Permanecer todo el tiempo en grupo y en silencio.
7. Los visitantes deberán seguir en todo momento las indicaciones del personal encargado de conducirlos durante las actividades de observación en el hábitat de anidación de las tortugas marinas.
