- Ways to get there
There are two areas you can visit: the Museum and Visitor Center and the crater route.
The Schuk Toak Museum and Visitor Center is located at Km. 72 on Highway No. 8 Sonoyta - Puerto Peñasco and is the registration point for the crater route. Here you must also pay the corresponding fee. It is 28 Km from Puerto Peñasco and 72 Km from Sonoyta. To visit the craters route you must access by Km 52 of highway 2 Sonoyta - San Luis Río Colorado. At 52 Km from Sonoyta and 152 Km from Puerto Peñasco. The interior route is 80 Km approximately, so you should be prepared with enough fuel. - Transportation facilities
There is no public transportation from Puerto Peñasco. Private or rented cars, cabs and tours from authorized tourist service providers. Cab fares can be high, ask for a quote first.
- Mobility within the protected area
The roads inside the reserve are dirt roads with rocky parts and fords, so you need a tall vehicle, (sprinter, suv, pick up) not necessarily 4×4. There is no access to low sedan type vehicles as they could damage their bodywork or get stuck. There is no access to motorcycles, ATVs, razors, buggies or buses. There are interpretive trails where you will find information about the area.

Field Station every day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for registration and payment of fees. Carretera Fed. 8 Km 51, Ejido Los Norteños, Puerto Peñasco Sonora. Schuk Toak Museum and Visitor's Center and access to Dunes from Thursday to Sunday from 9:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m. Federal Highway 8 Km 72.3 west access road 7 Km. Subject to official holidays and staff availability.

$225 MXN Entrance prices per person, per day, as collection of rights.
Senior citizens, pensioned and retired persons, disabled persons, and minors under 12 years of age will be exempt from the payment of fees, whose status will be accredited once they enter the Protected Area, if applicable, with the corresponding valid credential. A 50% discount will be applied to students and teachers with a valid credential, which must be presented upon entering the Protected Area.

Reglamento para el visitante en el ANP
1. La Reserva está abierta a todo el público, sin embargo, el personal podrá negar el acceso al visitante que represente un riesgo para la integridad de la reserva o para otros visitantes (personas en estado de ebriedad y/o bajo la influencia de drogas)
2. Está prohibido la introducción y uso de armas de fuego
3. NO SE PERMITE EL DESCENSO A LOS CRÁTERES
4. Está prohibida la colecta o extracción de plantas, animales, restos orgánicos, leña, arena, rocas, minerales, restos arqueológicos o cualquier otro recurso natural o elemento cultural del área. Toda la basura que genere durante su visita deberá recogerla y llevarla de regreso con usted. No la entierre incluso si es orgánica
5. En caso de preparar alimento necesita traer consigo su propia leña o carbón. Está permitido el uso de estufas portátiles de gas, alcohol o asadores
6. NO CORTAR NI DESTRUIR NINGÚN RECURSO FORESTAL
7. Le recomendamos no traer a sus mascotas, pero en caso de traerlas, solo se le permitirá el acceso con correa y deberá recoger sus deshechos en una bolsa y llevárselos con usted
8. No se permitirá el acceso a vehículos muy grandes o pesados tales como carros con remolques o autobúses de línea
9. No está permitido el acceso a vehículos recreativos como cuatrimotos, areneros etc
10. Deberá respetar y seguir las indicaciones dentro de la Reserva, tales como no entrar en caminos cerrados, no salirse de los caminos señalizados y respetar el límite de velocidad (40 Km/h)
11. No se permite el uso de aparatos de sonido a alto volumen
12. La introducción de bebidas alcohólicas a la reserva está permitida, su uso será con moderación. Se prohíbe el uso de cualquier sustancia que pueda usarse como estimulante o narcótico
13. Está estrictamente prohibida toda actividad que pueda ser fuente de contaminación (del aire, agua o suelo) come el vertimiento de desechos líquidos o sólidos, la quema o combustión de materiales diversos
14. Si defeca al aire libre deberá enterrar las heces en un orificio de tamaño adecuado de unos 30 cm de profundidad; no entierre al papel higiénico o toallas sanitaria; deberá guardarlos en bolsas de plástico y llevárselos con usted
