From Tapachula to La Encrucijada Biosphere Reserve is 31 kilometers from the first cairn in the municipality of Mazatán and 165 kilometers from the last cairn in the municipality of Pijijiapan. The communities can be reached by land and/or water, and the core zones can be reached by land and water.
- Transportation facilities
Some communities can only be reached by land. Most have public transportation, although there are communities that do not have this service and move mainly by motorcycles or private pickup trucks. Other communities also use public and private aquatic vehicles.
- Mobility within the protected area
By road and water. Some centers have terrestrial and aquatic trails.

Protected Area entrance fee
$125 MXN Entrance prices per person, per day, as collection of rights.
Senior citizens, pensioned and retired persons, disabled persons, and minors under 12 years of age will be exempt from the payment of fees, whose status will be accredited once they enter the Protected Area, if applicable, with the corresponding valid credential. A 50% discount will be applied to students and teachers with a valid credential, which must be presented upon entering the Protected Area.
