Sierra de Tamaulipas

The reserve has more than 10 entrances that connect to trails that allow you to move through the reserve, so we will only describe the four most general ones.
Entrance 1: Leaving from Cd. Victoria, Tamaulipas, take National Highway 70 (Old Victoria to Soto la Marina Highway) and from Km 65 to Km 90, you are in the northern part of the reserve (low deciduous forest zone) and along the roadside there are trails that lead to different ejidos and properties.
Entrance 2. Take the Victoria - Tampico Highway (CN 83 and CN 81) and at Km 78, you will intercept the Ignacio Zaragoza ejido and from there, head towards the Francisco Castellanos ejido.

Take the Cd. Victoria to Tampico Highway (CN 83), then join Highway 81, drive 141 km towards Tampico, enter the town of González and from there head north along a dirt road approximately 35 km to enter the ANP and another 10 km to get to Torrecilla, which is the community that belongs to the municipality and is located within the ANP (ecosystems of scrub, low deciduous forest, and pine and oak forests).

Entrance 4. Leave from Ciudad Victoria, take National Highway 83, follow National Highway 81, which intercepts approximately at Km 77.5 and following approximately 65 Km, you will arrive at González, following CN 81 for 30 Km more, it intercepts CN 180, in a journey of 190 Km (2:15 to 2:30 hours), you will arrive at the municipal seat of Aldama. In case of going to the Cenotes, you must enter the community of Las Palmas located approximately at Km 183 and from there head northeast for 20 to 30 minutes to reach the Aldama Cenotes.

National Highway 180 leads from Aldama to Soto la Marina and there are several ways to access the area.
Something similar happens with highways 83 and 81.

Passenger buses on some routes leave the roadside but do not enter, so it is necessary to get a vehicle or walk significant distances.

There are no trails; we depend on non-certified guides from the communities in case of transfers to specific sites.
