Access is via the Transpeninsular Highway (Federal Highway 1). It starts at Km 118 on the Lázaro Cárdenas Parador Punta Prieta stretch. By the Gulf of California by federal highway 5 in the Puertecitos Laguna Chapala section. To the south at Paralelo 28 on the Transpeninsular Highway.

Visitor regulations in the Protected Area
The rules at the Llano del Berrendo visitor center are:
1. Respect the staff and the facilities.
2. Respect the trails and signs. 3.
3. Do not run, push, or shout.
4. Do not touch the plants or animals
5. Do not touch or disturb pronghorns.
6. Not to consume food, cigarettes, chewing gum inside the station.
7. It is forbidden to enter in a state of drunkenness and with alcoholic beverages.
8. Do not enter with weapons.
9. In the case of activities carried out with service providers, the rules must be in accordance with those established in the Management Program of the Valle de los Cirios Wildlife Protection Area, Administrative Rules, Chapter III: Tourist Service Providers and Chapter IV: Visitors.
